See Inside Brett Favre’s Green Bay Home
You may know Brett Favre as a quarterback who played for the NFL for two decades straight. While he was active, the celebrated athlete played for the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, and the Minnesota Vikings, but the majority of his career was spent with the Green Bay Packers.
His home in Green Bay, Wisconsin sits just two miles from Lambeau Field in a pleasant neighborhood full of tall trees, green lawns, and ranch-style homes. Get ready to walk through the home Brett returned to after each of those captivating Packers games.
A Charming Suburban Home
Driving down Shady Lane in Green Bay, Wisconsin, you'll stumble upon this quaint home. The exposed brick is a charming feature of the ranch-style home. You'll also notice that the walkway is extra-long leading to the front door.
That's because the front yard is as spacious as many backyards, offering lush grass and towering trees. The symmetry of the home also enhances the home's curb appeal and is emphasized by the green landscaping on either side of the concrete walkway.
The Front Yard Could Be A Back Yard
From this angle you can see how the front yard could easily act as a back yard, offering yet another space to play games, camp out, or throw a birthday party. The home sits on roughly half an acre of land and it's all being put to use.
Especially for an athlete, having outdoor space to move around in is vital. Brett Favre deserves all of the space he can get after being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
An Inviting Entry
At 6 foot 2 and more than 200 pounds, Brett needs an impressive entrance like this just to get through the front door. Wooden floors adorn the foyer along with two white pillars, giving it a classic look.
Off-white walls give the home an open and airy feel upon walking in without making it seem too bland. Beyond lies an inviting living room that looks out to the back yard and features a piano. The open flow prevents the home from feeling tight or compartmentalized.
A Peachy Formal Dining Room
Directly to the right of the foyer is a bright formal dining room. The space's warm, peach-colored walls make the first-rate area feel homey. A chandelier adds a touch of classic charm while the large window opens up the room.
Imagine the Superbowl party snacks that would have been laid out across the table for cheering guests as they watched their friend lead the Packers! Brett snagged his first Superbowl win in 1997 against the New England Patriots.
A Bright And Friendly Kitchen
Some homes are too modern for comfort, especially those belonging to celebrities. But this kitchen evokes the down-to-earth attitude Brett would have had upon buying the cheery home. Beyond the microwave you can see the dining room that we just visited, conveniently located adjacent to this spacious kitchen.
The slick countertops offer an updated look while the lime green walls keep the area bright and inviting. White appliances provide a blank canvas so that the rest of the kitchen can steal the show.
A Cohesive Flow
One advantage of this home is how easy it is to navigate the layout due to its airy floorplan. From this position, you can see the living room we saw from the front door. A breakfast nook overlooks the back yard beyond.
Looking straight ahead, you can make out the dining room. To the left is a hallway that leads to one of the four bedrooms and down to the basement. A built-in desk provides a workspace as an alternative to an office, allowing the owner to make the most of each bedroom.
Plenty Of Storage
From this angle, we have a better look at the ample storage of the kitchen. A double oven has counter space on either side, and if that wasn't enough there's also an island in the middle of the kitchen.
Hardwood floors are flattering and are easier to clean surface than tile. They also pick up on the red-brown backsplash behind the stove, which is built into the surface of the counter. If you look to the far left, you can see a sitting area beyond the breakfast nook, which we'll head to next.
The Perfect Gathering Space
This room feels like it belongs in a black and white mystery film. Something about the leather furniture, grand fireplace, and floor to ceiling built-ins make it feel both classic and cozy. The omission of a television makes this space all about being together.
The maroon walls add depth to the room while the surrounding large windows prevent it from feeling like a cave. It's like going to your favorite grandfather's house and gathering around the fireplace with relatives.
Entering The Basement
Remember that hallway that ran along the side of the kitchen? If you follow it to the end you'll reach a staircase leading down to this space. The single-level home is all one the same level apart from this descent into a polished, open space that you could convert into anything.
Full of recess lighting, the entrance to the basement is a seating area with bookshelves in the corner. Think of how focused you could be reading in the silence of the basement.
Plenty Of Room To Play In
While the previous space was enough of an addition, it was just the tip of the iceberg. If you look down toward the right of this photo, you can see one of the chairs in the room we just saw. Continuing into the basement, you step into this giant area.
Straight ahead you can see that there is an office in a perfect location to avoid the noise of upstairs. Meanwhile, there is all of this open space that's not remotely crowded by the three pieces of furniture in the corner.
A Darling Playroom
This periwinkle room is currently being used as a playroom. An archway leads to a bathroom conveniently adjacent to the space, which is ideal for any little ones. The room features a vaulted ceiling that opens the area and prevents it from feeling like a box.
The structure of the ceiling also complements the large bay window, letting in ample natural light. With a view of the backyard trees, the outdoors meld into the indoors, reminding the kids to get some fresh air every now and again.
A Spacious Bedroom
This spacious bedroom is furnished with a twin-sized bed that appears to have a trundle underneath. Even with the trundle pulled out, you would still have loads of space from the foot of the bed to the wall.
A large desk fits comfortably in the room, as would a vanity, dresser, a king-sized bed, or any other bedroom furniture you might need. Judging by the additional door to the left, it looks like there is also an adjoining bathroom.
A Quaint Bathroom
While many aren't big fans of wallpaper, the design here goes to show that it isn't always a bad choice. The deep peach is reminiscent of the dining room, adding warmth to the space.
Unlike the dining room, these walls also have glistening spots on them to add even more character to the space. Golden fixtures add to the warm feel of the room. A standing shower stall makes it a full bathroom suitable for anyone's needs.
The Master Bedroom
Like many of the rooms in this house, the master bedroom features impressive windows with views of the surrounding landscape. The ceiling is raised in the center, offering additional space that a tall gentleman like Brett probably appreciates.
The heightened ceilings also allow for a bed frame that sits at a safe distance below the ceiling fan. The room is large enough to fit a large bed, nightstands, and not one but two large dressers, all while leaving plenty of space to get around.
A Double Vanity
As soon as you walk through the master bedroom's archway, you'll see this impressive vanity to your immediate right. The space features his-and-hers matching sinks that are separated by built-in cabinetry.
Like the front of the house, this vanity is noticeably symmetrical, with all of the cabinets below each sink identical to one another. There is also recessed lighting above the mirror so that you can see your reflection clearly.
A Master En Suite
To the right is the vanity from the previous photograph. This image reveals the rest of the spacious master bathroom. A large tub fits snugly into a niche flanked by windows, providing ventilation and fresh air.
Above the tub is also recessed lighting. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry allows for towel storage right in the bathroom. A shower stall is positioned across from the toilet, both of which are in a separate area from the rest of the bathroom.
An Ample Laundry Room
The laundry room features its very own sink and counter with cabinets underneath. A washer and dryer sit next to one another and below is more cabinetry. Above the sink is a rod where clothes can be conveniently air-dried or hung up to prevent wrinkles.
The laundry room also features a window, which ensures that the room won't become too warm due to the drying machine pumping out hot air. The door to the left likely leads out to the garage, which we'll see later on.
Space For Entertaining
From the back of the house, you can see that many of the windows face the back yard, so it's ideal that the yard is so well manicured. Healthy plants outline the home and bushes are speckled throughout.
The greenery is further accented by the house's white exterior, which is made of wooden planks. If you recall, the front of the house consisted of exposed brick. Having both exteriors gives you the best of both worlds aesthetically.
Outside Gathering Space
While the walls out here are not exposed brick, the patio is. The brick flooring is a more visually appealing alternative to drab concrete, and adds a nice color contrast against the green of the lawn and the white of the walls.
The patio is extensive in length, spanning the length of the breakfast nook and the seating room inside. With a celebrity like Brett, who holds several NFL records, ample room to entertain is important for hosting big-name parties.
Elegant Landscaping
This is the view from the patio area we just saw. As you can see, the landscaping is simple yet elegant. The grassy area may not be the size of a football field, but it certainly is enough room to play around in or to let the dogs roam free.
One of the more impressive parts of this yard is how private it is. The landscaping isn't just beneficial because it looks nice, but is also helpful with creating a barrier between you and the neighbors.
Lush Greenery
To get a better idea of how private this yard is, here is an image from a different angle. Trees with barren trunks surround the house, but those with thick leaves going all the way down to the ground are placed at a distance to better conceal the yard.
Bushes and hedges are also placed so that the yard is hidden without sacrificing the open space. As with all famous individuals such as Brett, not being easily spotted by passersby is of particular importance.
A Unique Feature
The house is placed in an ideal spot in the neighborhood: on a street corner. The convenience of this is that you aren't sandwiched between neighbors, but also that the garage does not need to be placed at the front or back.
Instead, this garage is situated on the side of the house. So when Brett drives home, he would arrive on the adjacent street rather than the street that his address indicates. A side door even leads out to the large, grassy knoll at the house's side.
Three-Car Garage
The three-car garage provides plenty of space to park cars and for storage. Many homeowners will even put a gym in the garage or a part of it, which could easily be done in one of this size.
Athletes like Brett Favre need all of the exercise time that they can get in order to stand out against their competition. That's what got him a football scholarship to college, where he won six of the ten games he started in his freshman year.
Beautiful Streets
One of the charming things about Wisconsin, which a Mississippi boy would likely enjoy, is the lush trees that fill in the neighborhoods. Streets are shadowed by expansive tree canopies and autumn brings bushels of fallen leaves.
When Brett was young, he stood out as a talented football player. He earned five varsity letters when he was only in the eighth grade. Though he always wanted to be a quarterback, he ended up playing various positions.
Trees Abound
Back to the front of the house, you can see more clearly in this image how tree-filled the front yard is. You can also see that the side yard creates a good distance from the house next door, which may be the reason that a gate is not needed.
The advantage of ample space is not as easily found in urban areas, especially without a large price. This home is more than 4,000 square feet and is worth approximately $380,000 according to Zillow. That's a modest mortgage for a famous athlete!
Iron Gates
Brett Favre ended his career after returning to his hometown of Mississippi and playing for the Vikings from 2009 to 2010. That's where he found his impressive mansion, which admittedly makes the home we just looked at seem like a starter home.
Like many celebrities, Favre climbed the ladder in terms of luxury. You can tell by the giant iron gates that lead to his more recent property that things have changed since his days with the Packers.
Now That's An Entrance
While the Green Bay home had a long walkway, huge frontyard, and expansive foyer, this entrance is breathtaking. The home isn't just large but tall, unlike the one-story. A giant archway leading to the front door adds to the grandeur of the home.
Additionally, the landscaping seems more planned and extensive. You would need all of the trees from the previous backyard just to cover half of the front of this mansion. The white stucco might not be as charming as the red brick, but it is very fresh-looking.
Resort Status
Brett went from a modest but pleasant green yard to a giant pool area fit for a resort. Like the other home, this mansion has several windows along the back side that face out towards the back yard.
The glistening pool has a unique design, including a circular jacuzzi that's placed in the middle. You can tell that he enjoys symmetry by the fact that both homes have obvious symmetrical features. Even the patio furniture is identically placed on either end of the pool.
Waterfront
One of the best parts of this mansion is its location, and not just because it's in Brett's hometown. The mansion is situated in the forest and alongside a river, giving access to the very nature of Mississippi.
Here, Brett sits at a patio table in front of a cameraman. They are on a patio that overlooks the lake and the trees beyond. When it comes to privacy, this is just about as secluded as you can get in the suburbs.
A View From The Top
The only way to truly show the enormity of Brett Favre's mansion is to show it from above. The giant home looks like six or seven homes that have all been squished together. You can also see that the mansion is surrounded by tall, lush trees.
The plot of land that the home sits on is backed by a grass field that just might be large enough for a football field. Though he's retired now, we'd bet Brett has still practices out there every now and again.
