Steph Curry Wants His Own Olympic Medal
The 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo are fast approaching and one person with a countdown on is Steph Curry. The Golden State Warriors star says he wants to finally play for Team USA.
Curry has yet to play for Team USA at the Olympics but has every intention to play on the 2020 team.
"That is the plan, for sure. You know, obviously knock on wood, you don't want any injuries or things like that to interfere," said Curry to ESPN. "I've been on two World Cup championship gold-medal teams. But the Olympics is the experience that I want. And next year will hopefully be it."
Team USA finished seventh this past summer at the FIBA World Cup.
Curry's commitment and enthusiasm to play in the Olympics will hopefully draw other superstar players to join him.
"We're still the best. If we get the guys that are supposed to be there ... representing us in the Olympic stage and the commitment's been there, and I think it'll be there next year," said Curry.
Team USA won gold at the last summer Olympics and if Curry ends up on the team we have no doubts they'll pull it off again!
