Dana White Won’t Allow McGregor In The Octagon With Masvidal
Conor McGregor isn't about to step in the ring with UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal anytime soon, that's the message being delivered by UFC president Dana White.
After Masvidal expressed interest in fighting McGregor, White told TMZ, "Hell no!"
White then added, "Masvidal is too big for Conor. There's plenty of fights for [Masvidal] in his weight division without Conor. He's too big for Conor. [McGregor] doesn't belong at 170 [pounds]. He's got the balls to fight at 170, but he doesn't belong there."
Masvidal's agent, Abe Kawa, says his client is only willing to fight McGregor or current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
McGregor, throughout his entire career, has only fought at 170-pounds two times, including his submission loss to Kahbib Nurmagomedov in 2018.
Dana White has hinted at McGregor's UFC return in late 2019 or early 2020. At this time there is no scheduled fight for the UFC superstar. McGregor will likely have to wait out Nurmagomedov's fights with champion Dustin Poirier to see who he'll battle next.
With McGregor not repeating his 170-pound match with Nurmagomedov, there are a lot of questions left unanswered.
